A clairvoyant eyes her success and schemes with the power of a Prince to elevate her position at any cost. A plan is hatched, evil feeds a fire. Everyone loses, charity included.
Clint Lutes and Bérengère Valour twist a factual story to create an intricate fictional scenario of greed, betrayal, charity and death. The events are based on a fire at the Bazar de la Charité at the turn of the 20th Century in Paris. The characters are dreamy and arrogant, conniving and beautiful, tragic and calm.
